Het Spoor is an official bivouac site on the southern edge of Meerdaalwoud, near a former forester’s house. It offers a simple, pre-booked tent stay in one of Flemish Brabant’s largest wooded areas.

Rules for your stay

  • Free advance reservation is required.
  • Stay for no more than one night and respect the posted arrival and departure times.
  • Use a lightweight trekking tent and the designated pitches.
  • The site is for travellers arriving on foot or by bicycle; cars are not allowed at the bivouac site.
  • Respect the peace and natural surroundings, and take all waste away with you.
  • Fire is allowed only in a designated fire basket and when wildfire conditions permit.

Meerdaalwoud and Heverleebos

Het Spoor lies in an extensive woodland with many kilometres of walking and cycling paths. The checked sources do not link this site to a specific long-distance trail, but several waymarked walks explore the surrounding forest.
